Sing, Dance & Play

Hello friends and welcome to my blog! This is a place to share parenting ideas, song lyrics and resources that can help families thrive and grow. My emphasis is music, and how musical play can help develop language, social-emotional growth, literacy, and overall mental and physical development in young children.

About Me

My photo
Susy Porter
I am a creative person who has been performing since childhood. Over the years I have learned the fine art of balancing performing with teaching. It is richly rewarding for me to witness the growth and development of young children. Over the years I have seen overwhelming evidence of the transformative power of music. Shy, cautious toddlers gradually venture into the center of the class and dance with joy and confidence. Music provides a construct for incredible growth and development. Regardless of ability or personality type, every child benefits from exposure to high quality music. Listening to music can calm an anxious child, enliven a bored child, or cheer up a sad child. Simply put: music works magic as nothing else can. It is one of the joys of my life to share music with families. I am committed to providing the finest music classes for young children. Over the years I have heard countless stories from parents about the positive effect my class has had on their children. Former students of mine have gone on to star in musicals, learn to play instruments and develop a deep appreciation for music throughout their lives.
